Oaklands Farm Eggs Ltd is on a mission – to bring eggs produced and packed in Wales to shelves across the country, starting with a new deal to supply retailer Lidl with Welsh branded eggs. The yellow daffodil will be representing Wales around the food halls of London on and leading up to St David's Day. Welsh producers will be leaving their cheese dairies, farms, bakeries, fishmongers, butchers and food production kitchens and all heading down to London for a few days to show what fabulous food is produced in Wales. Co-ordinated by the Welsh Government’s Food Division, the producers will be welcomed at Fortnum & Mason, Harrods, John Lewis Food Hall Oxford Street, Partridges and Marks & Spencer Marble Arch and the company’s stores across Wales. Welsh wine is now of such a high standard it should be judged against not just national but international competition. That is the view of Roger Jones, Michelin starred chef and head judge at the inaugural Welsh Vineyard Association competition. The competition, which was held at Llanerch Vineyard in the Vale of Glamorgan, drew entries from vineyards across Wales. The entries were blind tasted by the trio of expert judges – which included Bill Gunn former Managing Director of the famous Champagne producer Pol Roger, and Julie Bell from the Felin Fach Griffin near Brecon - and marked using the rigorous Decanter World
