A shared love of Welsh poetry has led to the rapid expansion of a Gwynedd mushroom-growing company.   The Mushroom Garden – Snowdonia, has already tasted success in producing fresh and dried Shiitake and Oyster mushrooms for customers including restaurants, hotels and the National Trust.   However, as the family-run business has blossomed, so has the need for more growing space.   As a result of the formation of a new partnership, the business is set to increase its capacity five-fold, with the weekly production of Shiitake and Oyster mushrooms estimated to rise from 200kg to around 1 tonne per week.   Thirteen years ago, interest in fungi

In November 2017, Dafydd Jones, started his industrial placement with Menter a Busnes as a Corporate Services Assistant as part of his Management degree with Lancaster University. Recently Menter a Busnes have decided to reduce the amount of plastic that staff use daily.  The decision came following numerous stories in the media and the powerful TV show by Sir David Attenborough, ‘Blue Planet II’ about the plastic pollution in our oceans.   The Aberystwyth office have been piloting a plastic free office in July and August this year, with staff discouraged from using single use plastic bottles, not using plastic cups in events and bringing packed lunches using re-usable boxes such as Tupperware.   Following the pilot, a ‘naked lunch’ was arranged where sandwiches and cakes were ordered from a local
