Shoppers urged to have a #CywainWelshChristams at Winter Fair

24 November 2017

Visitors to the Royal Welsh Winter Fair will be encouraged to support local producers this Christmas, and have the chance to win some fabulous home-grown produce.

The Food Hall at the Winter Fair (November 27th & 28th) is always packed with festive fayre, and agri-food support project, Cywain, will be introducing a number of new food and drink producers to the public at Llanelwedd.

Over the two days, ten producers will be featured on the Cywain stand, many of whom will be launching new products ideal for Christmas.

From pheasants and chocolates to gourmet sausage rolls and innovative drinks, there will be a wide range of delicious Welsh products.

Through social media Cywain - which supports the development of new markets in the agri-food sector - will be urging people to “buy Welsh” in the run-up to Christmas.

Using the hashtags #CywainWelshChristmas #NadoligCymreigCywain visitors will be encouraged to join in a festive selfie campaign with the chance to win a hamper of Welsh products.

“Christmas is such an important time of the year for Welsh producers, and we are asking people to make their purchases closer to home - to ‘shop local and shop Welsh’,” says Cywain manager, Myrddin Davies.

“The Winter Fair Food Hall is a fantastic food and drink showcase, and we hope people will take the opportunity to try and buy what Wales has on offer.”
