Menter a Busnes strengthens board with two new non-executive appointments

Wales’ leading independent economic and business development company, Menter a Busnes, has strengthened its board with the appointment of two leading legal and business representatives.

Fflur Jones, a Partner at Darwin Gray in Cardiff and Rhian Owen, co-founder of Llanrwst-based bakery business Siwgr a Sbeis, have been appointed as non-executive directors.

One of Wales’ most successful independent business and economic development companies since it was established in 1989, Menter a Busnes designs and delivers a wide range of its own programmes for businesses, entrepreneurship, skills and innovation and development in sectors ranging from agriculture to food and drink.

It also delivers and manages a number of programmes for national and regional organisations, including on behalf of the Welsh Government with Farming Connect service and the Big Ideas Wales youth entrepreneurship campaign and others as well as providing commercial services for businesses.

“Fflur and Rhian bring with them a wealth of experience and talent that will further strengthen and help develop Menter a Busnes’s growth plans,” said Chief Executive, Alun Jones.

The two join Menter a Busnes’ other non-executive directors, including chair, Sian Lloyd Jones, formerly chief executive of Finance Wales, and Dr Martin Rhisiart, Professor of Strategy and Innovation at the University of South Wales; Menna Jones, Chief Executive of Antur Waunfawr; Dr Owen Jones, Researcher and Consultant with Suterra; Gwenan Prysor, Director of MA in Social Work and Lecturer at Bangor University and Elin Jones Managing Director of multimedia production company Telesgôp.
