A record number of small and up and coming food and drink producers will be making their debut at the Royal Welsh Show Food Hall (July 24-27th) thanks to agri-food support project, Cywain.   Over the four days of the Show, 16 producers will be setting up stall in the Food Hall for the very first time with products ranging from truffles and honey vinegar to scotch eggs and spring water.   The producers will be featured under the auspices of Cywain – a project which supports the development of new markets in the agri-food sector.   The Food Hall is one of the most popular features of the

The Carmarthenshire Beekeepers Association have been invited by the National Trust to take part in their first Food Festival at Dinefwr Castle Llandeilo later this month, the event takes place on the weekend of the 25th and 26th of June, 10am to 6pm. A spokesman for the association said "We hope to have a hive of live bees along with various display items. A talk will be given by our vice chairman Selwyn Runnett and he will talk about bees, beekeeping and how the general public can make their gardens more bee friendly. Beekeeping is being used to help Welsh ex-servicemen cope with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Carmarthenshire former soldier, Richard Jones, has teamed up with the Cywain Bee project as a means of helping his fellow ex-servicemen deal with the effects of PTSD. Himself a PTSD sufferer and beekeeper, Richard from Llanelli, believes there are qualities associated with beekeeping that can help veterans affected by the debilitating and distressing disorder that is triggered by traumatic events. Richard, who served in Bosnia, Kosovo, Afghanistan and Iraq, was diagnosed with PTSD a few years ago and his experiences put him in a unique position to help
